Palouse: The Photographers Palette Photo Tour June 2020

Southeastern Washington better known as 'The Palouse', at least within the photography community, has become a favorite location for photographing patterns, rural scenes and artefacts of old Americana. This is a major agricultural area primarily producing wheat and legumes. Many sleepy little farming communities are hidden amongst the rolling verdant green hills in the region, making this a quiet place to explore and enjoy a creative journey.

I invite you to join me in the rolling hills of the Palouse for beautiful landscapes, dramatic clouds, rustic barns, abandoned vehicles and farm equipment, and much more on this rewarding photo tour. This journey will be one of my special All-Inclusive Photo Tours. With long days, long drives and limited pull off sites along the rural roads, it makes for a more enjoyable experience when you let me do the work and you sit back and enjoy your photography.

Our Palouse Photography Mentorship program is designed to accommodate all skill levels. There is some hiking involved, most are very easy walks that anyone in moderately good health should have no problem.

Interested but would need to know more:
Where is the lodging? Single rooms?
Who is leading the workshop and do they have references from past participants?
I would like to see some examples of the workshop leaders work/portfolio
Would there be any hiking on this trip?

  2. Claire,
Thank you for expressing interest in my Palouse Photography Tour. I will be happy to answer your questions. You can also get a whole more info on my website site at

Lodging is at the Holiday In Express in Pullman, WA. This area is a major agricultural area with a large university in the town of Pullman. There are not a lot of big hotel chains in the area but the ones that are here are very nice. Tour price is based on double occupancy but there is a single room supplement for those who want their own room. This is shown on my website.

I am leading this photography tour, William Manning. My bio can be read on my website. I have been leading photography tours for 30 years. I have a long list of credentials I think you’ll like and I have real world experience providing award winning photography to major clients across the US, these are not stock photography sales but rather assignments. Please contact me via my email from my website and I will share a few contacts for you to reach out to for references. I don’t want to share those emails on this forum for privacy reasons.

There is very little hiking on this trip. This is as easy as it gets.

Thank you and please feel free to email any questions you may have. I would be delighted to have you join me in Palouse.
