Welcome! I am Jon Norris, a landscape photographer and hiking/backpacking guide for Joshua Tree National Park. I offer one-on-one and small group workshops, as well as online mentoring. For me, landscape photography is not merely about capturing images but embracing the entire experience of nature. Whether you are a seasoned photographer or a novice, I’m here to assist you in exploring, experiencing, and creating breathtaking photographs. My workshops are relaxed, fun, and highly informative. They offer hands-on guidance tailored to your pace, making them an experience you won't want to miss. I have been passionate about photography since I first picked up a camera at the age of 14. Over the years, I have refined my craft, merging technical precision with creative expression. As a former aerospace engineer, I value both the technical and artistic aspects of photography, and I bring that balance to every shoot. When I am not behind the camera or leading landscape photography workshops, I am often hiking or volunteering with organizations that support our wilderness, such as the Joshua Tree National Park Association’s Desert Institute or Nature First.
