Welcome! I am Jon Norris, a landscape photographer and hiking/backpacking guide for Joshua Tree National Park. I offer one-on-one and small group workshops, as well as online mentoring. For me, landscape photography is not merely about capturing images but embracing the entire experience of nature. Whether you are a seasoned photographer or a novice, I’m here to assist you in exploring, experiencing, and creating breathtaking photographs.My workshops are relaxed, fun, and highly informative. They offer hands-on guidance tailored to your pace, making them an experience you won't want to miss.I have been passionate about photography since I first picked up a camera at the age of 14. Over the years, I have refined my craft, merging technical precision with creative expression. As a former aerospace engineer, I value both the technical and artistic aspects of photography, and I bring that balance to every shoot.When I am not behind the camera or leading landscape photography workshops, I am often hiking or volunteering with organizations that support our wilderness, such as the Joshua Tree National Park Association’s Desert Institute or Nature First.You are in the right place if you’re seeking adventure, knowledge, and a dash of humour.
