Pursue fall colors and full moon photography in the dramatic Eastern Sierra with a local expert, with real time guiding, feedback and instruction. Your instructor and guide, local photographer Jeff Sullivan, wrote the book on the best landscape photography locations in California: 'Photographing California Vol. 2 – South' including several chapters on the Eastern Sierra. Jeff personally leads all of his workshops, so you can be sure that he is planning every trip for peak seasonal conditions and dates: fall colors, wildflowers, waterfalls and astrophotography opportunities.
The Eastern Sierra region was a favorite location for Ansel Adams and home to adventure photographer Galen Rowell. Follow in their footsteps as we pursue fall colors landscapes during the day, and long exposure photography at night.
Jeff entered the digital imaging field in 1985 at the Digital Printing and Imaging Division of Tektronix, upon earning his bachelor's degree in Computer Science from U.C. Berkeley. An avid astrophotographer, he was awarded Astronomy Photographer of the Year 2011 (People and Space special prize) by the Royal Observatory, Greenwich. Jeff's images are regularly licensed for publication in magazines, travel guides, books commercials and television. He was named one of the 'Top 100 Travel Photographers in the World' 2015 and 2017 by travel and event company Chilisauce.
