Fall in Arizona is such a picturesque time of year. Warm golden light falls on the yellow and red aspens in Flagstaff; and sunsets give the Grand Canyon walls deep earthy oranges and reds. Photographer Shane McDermott will help you awaken your unique artistic expression as you explore the autumn splendor of Arizona’s northern landscapes. With cool nights and short daylight hours, quaking aspen and oak forests turn from summer green to autumn gold providing spectacular displays of fall color that mingle with spruces, pines and firs.
This photography adventure combines the best of two locations into one fantastic workshop, Flagstaff and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. In Flagstaff, we will photograph the colors of the Kachina Peaks Wilderness area from Lockett Meadow to Aspen Corner on Snowbowl Road where clusters of quaking aspens illuminate the evergreen forests.
At the Grand Canyon’s North Rim we will have the opportunity to photograph more epic colors of fall with its rich warm tones of red and orange that bounce off the canyon walls at sunrise and sunset. The changing season also brings with it golden meadows and beautiful stands of quaking aspen that boast abundant wildlife activity from mule deer and turkeys to large herds of buffalo.
Join Shane as he takes you on a journey of beauty and creativity as we travel through Arizona’s season of change. Double occupancy lodging and roundtrip transportation from Phoenix is included.
