The Alps are the backbone of Europe and the Dolomites at the southeast part of them is a place of incredible beauty. A chance to walk at the foothills of giant vertical peaks and photograph sunlit summits on reflecting alpine lakes will make this a memorable experience. Combined with the photographic knowledge gained in this trip, this 'autumn in the Dolomites' workshop is a chance not to be missed.
The first leg of the workshop will be based in the Tre Cime di Lavaredo area with Tre Cime being the highlight of the tour. We will frequently visit the national park and also explore lesser known but equally beautiful locations following mountain passes with stunning views.
The second leg of our workshop will find us at the western part of the mountain range focusing our photographic interest at the highest alpine valley in Europe, Alpe di Siussi or Seiser Alm. Wooden huts and rolling hills covered in morning mist or frost with the impressive mountain range at the background will form our terrain of exploration.
We have chosen late September early October because it is the end of the summer season and most of the visitors have departed. Resulting in fewer encounters with people at the locations we will be photographing, having the whole national park almost to ourselves. Moreover, the weather conditions tend to be unstable resulting in interesting photographic opportunities.
The main goal of our workshop is to capitalise on all the chances we get to photograph and improve. We have taken care of everything, from transportation and lodging, to delicious dinners so all that is left for you to do is focus one eye on the viewfinder and the other one inside you – and be creative. The main advantage which is unique to Light-Explorers is that we have a completely different approach to photography, hence this workshop can appeal not only to people starting with photography but also to people who want a nudge to a different direction.
