The tour begins in the beautiful Central Otago region of the South Island with our Maniototo Masterclass Workshop, designed to help you refine your landscape photography skills. The Maniototo is famous for inspiring artists due to its wild, natural beauty, expansive skies, and incredible light. In this remote, picturesque region, you will capture a stunning array of subjects, from rugged mountains and pristine rivers to rolling farmland, all accessed via 4WD vehicles.

The tour continues inland to Wanaka, with its pristine, glacially-fed lake and surrounding mountains. Here, you will have two full days to explore its breathtaking scenery and the opportunity to capture the vibrant autumn colours set against the dramatic backdrop of snow-capped peaks. Central Otago’s landscapes amplify autumn like no other. Using 4WDs, we will uncover hidden gems in both Wanaka and Queenstown, ensuring spectacular photographic opportunities.

Our adventure continues into the untouched wilderness of the Catlins Coast, a region brimming with natural beauty, including fossilised forests, dramatic coastal landscapes, and incredible wildlife. Highlights include the iconic Nugget Point Lighthouse and the serene beauty of the Catlins Coastal Rainforest Park.

The tour concludes with a visit to Fiordland National Park and the breathtaking vistas of Milford Sound. In this majestic fiord, sheer granite cliffs rise from mirror-like waters adorned with cascading waterfalls. The area is surrounded by lush rainforest and towering peaks.

Milford Sound is one of the scenic highlights of Fiordland National Park, which is included in the Te Wahipounamu – South West New Zealand UNESCO World Heritage Area. This area is recognised for its outstanding natural beauty, unique ecosystems, and significant geological features. Whether bathed in sunshine, cloaked in mist, or sparkling in the spray of numerous waterfalls when it rains, this pristine wilderness offers unparalleled photographic opportunities.
