Learn and practice night photography and Milky Way astrophotography in America's best preserved authentic Wild West abandoned 'ghost town'. Capture Bodie's historic vehicles and buildings light painted under the Milky Way. Capture star trails over the iconic Bodie Church, and through early summer assemble panoramas of the Milky Way arching through the sky. We have led 35 night photography workshops in Bodie State Historic Park, so we offer the best dates, subjects, compositions and lighting for you all season.
We have expanded the itinerary to include instruction days and practice nights at other nearby exotic locations such as Mono Lake, to ensure that you have time to work on your technique before your precious time in Bodie. Our 2019 Bodie-Eastern Sierra workshops come in 2, 3 and 4 day itineraries to best meet a variety of photographers' needs and budgets.
Your lead instructor and guide is local pro photographer Jeff Sullivan, who entered the digital imaging field in 1985 at the Digital Printing and Imaging Division of Tektronix, upon earning his degree in Computer Science from U.C. Berkeley. Also, an avid fan of astronomy and space, he was awarded Astronomy Photographer of the Year 2011 (People and Space category) by the Royal Observatory, Greenwich.
Review our 2019 schedule for other workshops including Eastern Sierra Fall Colors, Mono Lake Winter and Moon Rise, Yosemite National Park, Death Valley National Park and more. See Jeff's site knowledge in these areas in his 320-page guidebook 'Photographing California Vol. 2 - South', available on Amazon.
