Bandon, Oregon Coast Photo Workshop May 2020

Bandon Beach probably has the best collection of photogenic sea stacks along the entire Oregon Coast. And they are right outside the hotel room windows too! It is also probably the best place on the coast for sunsets.

For a photographer, the entire Bandon area is a treat. Sea stacks, of course, but there are also harbors, tide pools, nets, crashing waves, the formal gardens of Shore Acres State Park and three lighthouses, including the towering Cape Blanco Lighthouse. The town of Bandon itself is also a great spot for being a tourist, buying souvenirs and making travel images.

During this trip we will spend plenty of time photographing the sea stacks, trying to capture dramatic sunset light or playing with long exposures to create ethereal ocean surf images. The cliffs at Shore Acres could also provide us with the opportunity to photograph crashing waves, depending on the tides and weather conditions.

Your leaders for this trip are Rod Barbee and Cliff Zenor, both of whom have been leading or co-leading trips for the better part of two decades.

  1. Can a non photography hubby come along without tutorial cost? He helps me carry some equipment. My back isn’t getting younger!
