Iceland! The country that is being discovered by millions but is really known to few. This incredible land of Ice and Fire is on the bucket list of many. You might have already visited Iceland in the summer, but have you seen the beauty of it in winter? Have you seen the Aurora Borealis? Have you experienced some of the darkest night skies and have you ever felt like you are alone in the whole country?
I am taking a very small group of only 3 people with me during this winter photo workshop. We will travel in a comfortable 4x4 Jeep (Land Cruiser/Range Rover or similar) through the complete Road 1, doing the complete circle around the island and more. I will be your guide, your photography instructor and your driver during these amazing 10 days. From waterfalls to northern lights, sunrises to sunsets, unique landscapes and weather, civilisation to desolation... everything is within my itinerary!
Travelling in such a small group always gave me the exclusive chance to never have to book all the accommodations in advance. The advantage of this is priceless as it gives us the chance to follow the good weather and clear skies as much as possible, hence increasing our chances significantly to see the northern lights and enjoy the country's beauties. We will be staying in fully equipped private houses/apartments where we will be the only occupants. Double occupancy per room and breakfast is always included. Lunches will most likely be somewhere along the road while the dinners will be cooked by ourselves together before heading out to chase those lights!
All skills of photography are welcome, but my suggestion would be to have at least a DSLR or Mirrorless camera with interchangeable lenses as well as a tripod. For people that have no previous photography experience, we will do a 1-day crash course either in person if you live in Switzerland or by Facetime/Whatsapp Video to get you up to speed with everything you must know before you get to Iceland. This detailed crash course is included in the price! The rest we will do together in Iceland.
Detailed information including a provisional day to day schedule, what is included and what is not and the FAQ as to what you should bring with you is available on my website.
