The aim of this Isle of Skye photo tour is to enhance your skills on composition, focusing and exposure techniques, as well as to master long exposure photography.
The foundation of this photo workshop is based on tuition and inspiration. The small group of only four participants will allow plenty of time for individual attention by the tutor, making sure you learn and photograph the area under the best light and supervision possible.
We will be based in Portree, the second largest town perfectly located for our daily excursions.
The Isle of Skye is situated off the west coast of Scotland and it is the largest and best known of the Inner Hebrides. Skye is renowned for its natural beauty and history.
In Gaelic it is normally referred to as An t-Eilean Sgitheanach, which translates as The Winged Isle – from the wing-like shape formed by the two northern peninsulas of Waternish and Trotternish. In English, it is often referred to as Eilean a’ Cheo, the 'Misty Isle.
At 639 square miles, Skye is the second-largest island in Scotland after Lewis and Harris. The coastline of Skye is a series of peninsulas and bays radiating out from a centre dominated by the Cuillin hills.
Photographic attractions on the island include the fishing village of Elgol with the spectacular views of the Cuillin hills, the Old Man of Storr, The huge land-slide of the Quiraing, Neist point with its lighthouse and extraordinary views of the Outer Hebrides and more, so much more.
